Lake Garda – Landscapes, Nature and Lakeside Villages

Lake Garda, Italy’s largest lake, is just 5 minutes from
B&B Susanna. To the south it is surrounded by gentle moraine hills, while to the north it is framed by high mountain ranges that give it a fjord‑like shape and protect it, contributing to its pleasantly mild, Mediterranean‑style climate.

The bright atmosphere, mild weather and rich vegetation — with olive trees, palms, cypresses, lemon trees, oleanders and orange trees — together with the grandeur of its landscapes and many historical and cultural sites, make Lake Garda one of the most attractive destinations in Italy.
Following the lakeside road you’ll discover the beautiful villages of Lazise, Bardolino, Garda, Torri del Benaco, Brenzone, Malcesine, Torbole and Riva del Garda.
The southern shore (the Riviera degli Olivi) offers a Mediterranean vibe, while the northern shoreline is more rugged, with rocks and dramatic cliffs.

Here are some recommended things to do:

Verona – Art, History and Culture

“There is no world without Verona walls…” — Shakespeare.
B&B Susanna is only 20 km from Verona’s historic center. Beyond its iconic landmarks — the Arena, the Roman Theatre, the Cathedral, the Basilica of San Zeno and Juliet’s House — the city offers a vibrant cultural scene with museums and events all year round.

Valpolicella – Wines, Landscapes and Tradition

The hills of Valpolicella are renowned since Roman times for viticulture — especially the iconic Amarone — and for Verona’s prized red marble. The landscape is dotted with elegant Venetian villas, small churches, rural courtyards and hamlets that tell centuries of history.

Monte Baldo – The “Garden of Europe”

Rising to 2,218 m and stretching for 37 km, Monte Baldo overlooks Lake Garda with spectacular views. On the clearest days you can see the Po Valley, the Apennines, the Venice Lagoon and a wide arc of the Alps.

You can reach the top via several hiking trails or by lift:

Borghetto di Valeggio sul Mincio – One of Italy’s Most Beautiful Villages

With its watermills and timeless atmosphere, Borghetto is considered one of Italy’s most charming villages — perfect for a romantic stroll and unforgettable photos.
